Four Nails
Thought he nailed it today

Re: Four Nails
I don't. He was hardly in the game, got booked and wasted any opportunities handed to him.

Love his workmate and he clearly cares which means more to us than just ability but he wasn't very good today and had no impact on the game.

He also very nearly took the shot that Lingard scored - no way would he have scored that on his right foot from there.

I liked his flick assist. Didn't know he was keen DIY

Re: Four Nails
I wouldn't say he nailed anything, really. He's a decent player - great work-rate, sometimes picks a good pass, but no pace, a terrible finisher and often makes the wrong decision in pressured situations, like in the second half when he was through into the area and he squared the ball to no-one. Shouldn't be too difficult to find an upgrade in the summer.

Re: Four Nails
His run meant Dier had to leave Antonio unmarked for the first and he was a huge part of the whole move that led to the second.

If that’s him off form then I can’t wait until he’s firing! He is destined to always be a vastly underrated player. I bet the rest of the team love playing with him. Every team needs a Fornals. I think he’s quality.

Re: Four Nails
I agree with Pagey. Sometimes, what you do without the ball can be as important as when you have the ball.

Alfs/pagey,
Exactly the fellas got an engine and nullifies players and gets unnoticed.
Off the ball he’s a great player,

Re: Four Nails
Indeed, jfk. That dummy run was worth an assist.

I think that what Moyes means when he says there are a couple more gears to move up to. Bennie hasn't scored yet, Bowen's not scoring as often as he should, Antonio isn't near to his normal fitness levels and 4nails is struggling when he sees the net and panics a little. He needs more composure when on the attack.

Chigwell 5:38 Mon Feb 22
Re: Four Nails
I like him. Not the most dangerous attacker, but Moyes will always get an honest performance out of him, and we need some reliable squad players even if he is not always first pick.

Re: Four Nails
I also thought Fornals did well. Although different players bringing slightly different aspects to the game, I don’t see much difference between Fornals, Bowen and Benrahma. Moyes usually brings in Bowen and Fornals for the toughest games, so I think Moyes rates Fornals for his high line defending and attack. Good to see Moyes is rotating them with Lanzini and keeping them all fit and a bit rested.

Re: Four Nails
Definitely underrated and I think he'll only get better.

Generally speaking I think it's risky bringing in southern European/South American footballers to the Premier League. They've been paying a certain way all their life and it often takes years for them to adapt to the speed of the Premier League. I suspect that this may have been why someone like Oggy looked mediocre for so long.

Obviously there are exceptions whose style and attributes are well suited to the Premier League and I think Pablo is one of them, but I still think he'll get better and better the longer he's here.

Re: Four Nails
When Snodgrass finally settled into the squad I likened him to Patsy Holland - always destined to be overshadowed by the more glamorous players, but the one who bought the space for that glamour to shine.

I now think Fornals is playing a similar role; not a clone of either Snodgrass or Holland, but his work-rate makes space for others.

I don't expect a hatful of goals from him every game and in a way he's still finding his way in the premiership; some just take longer than others to reach their full potential week-in, week-out.

Re: Four Nails
Players better than him can’t relax
Fornals will put on an endless shift and this lifts everyone.
The guy brings the energy and sets the pace.
I like him a lot

Agree with pagey, a very underrated player.

Re: Four Nails
He is a player that has grown under Moyes. He understands what he needs to do (in terms of performance) to play.
I was sceptical when he first came but have grown to really like Pablo - great character.

Re: Four Nails
He's a proper pro capable of doing a job in any top-flight team.

Will need a few more like him in various positions, like left back, if the club is to make any kind of showing in Europe next season.

Immagine if he could pass or score?

Re: Four Nails
For me he is one of the main ones to upgrade for next season. If we make Europe he can start every game in that. But you cant be as shit as he is in and around the box in this league and call yourself an attacking midfielder

Re: Four Nails
I’m one of them who because he runs around a lot and seems to care, I’d want him in our team.

When he scored that goal against Leicester, I was over the moon for him.

Yesterday, I thought Lingard took the Abel off him for his goal, but Pablo probably would have missed.

But like it’s been said, played a part in both goals.

Re: Four Nails
We have a front 4 that can be swapped around depending on opposition... fornals is a big part of that.
